Audrey Hepburn Quotes

She’s my all time favorite. Whenever I look at a picture of her, or read her quotes, I feel like I am more motivated to be happier, to be more affectionate and to live my life to the fullest.

I love it how she seems so quiet yet powerful. she always has a positive attitude and I feel like whatever she does, she does it like a real princess. You just can’t find anything against her.

So today I am going to post some of my favorite quotes from her here. This post is inspired by the one quote I read today @ Not Your Average Ordinary‘s post Audrey’s Wisdom.

First I will start with the Quote Brandi shared at her blog:

“I decided, very early on, just to accept life unconditionally; I never expected it to do anything special for me, yet I seemed to accomplish far more than I had ever hoped. Most of the time it just happened to me without my ever seeking it.” – Audrey Hepburn

I think this “I accept life unconditionally” state of mind is what I want to achieve ultimately.I wish one day I can wake up in the morning smiling to the day whether it’s going to be a good day or a bad day.

“For Attractive lips, speak words of kindness, For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people, For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry, For Beautiful hair, let a child run their fingers through it once a day, For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone. People, more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms. As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself and the other for helping others.”

– Audrey Hepburn

This is probably the most famous one. Nothing more needs to be said about it, again, it’s that quiet yet powerful thing about her in this quote.

“I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.”

– Audrey Hepburn

I try to always keep my faith in all those beliefs. Simple but not easy.

“I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it’s the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It’s probably the most important thing in a person.”

– Audrey Hepburn

:-) Smile big

“If I’m honest I have to tell you I still read fairy-tales and I like them best of all.”

– Audrey Hepburn

I do too, and I still love my favorite fairytales from childhood, even though Zach makes fun of me and I usually wouldn’t admit to it. I love fairytales, I go through Andersen’s lines so carefully and they give me unexplainable joy. Little Ida’s flowers is my favorite.

“Let’s face it, a nice creamy chocolate cake does a lot for a lot of people; it does for me.”
– Audrey Hepburn

So True. And people today at Hollywood really need to think about it.

“If I get married, I want to be very married.”
– Audrey Hepburn

Yea, me too!

“When you have nobody you can make a cup of tea for, when nobody needs you, that’s when I think life is over.”

 – Audrey Hepburn

My dear Zach, it makes me so happy to make you breakfast and coffee in the morning, maybe I should start doing that that everyday.

“I’ve been lucky. Opportunities don’t often come along. So, when they do, you have to grab them.”

– Audrey Hepburn

“Since the world has existed, there has been injustice. But it is one world, the more so as it becomes smaller, more accessible. There is just no question that there is more obligation that those who have should give to those who have nothing.”

– Audrey Hepburn

Another remedy for happiness

“Nothing is impossible the word itself says I’m possible.”

– Audrey Hepburn

Stay positive my friend.

the weekend

Had a wonderful weekend during which I did absolutely nothing!

Cooked the italian sausage and potato roast  shared by Organizing Junkie, Zach loved it, it made me so happy seeing him loving my food. I loved it too, it’s so easy to make, it’s yummy, and it’s pretty healthy with all the green peppers and unions in it.

Can’t wait to try the Jalapeno shrimp linguine recipe I stumbled upon on Satureday tonight, more importantly, I can’t wait to see Zach swallowing down my food again.

post labor day week

It’s been a while since I posted anything here.

One thing is my laptop at home broke, it looks to me that the end of its life has come :-( No fun at all. I am still deciding whether to save and get a new one or to save and have it fixed…

I think I was a little spoiled at the 3 day long weekend, it was just so hard to come back to work yesterday, and even today. Zach’s having a fever and bronchitis after the labor day holiday:-( My poor Mr. Big Bird, so good thing that he’s able to stay home for a couple more days.

The Cincinnati labor day fireworks was just phenomenon, we found this perfect little spot behind a church in Price Hill and avoided the crowd at the river front. I have always loved fireworks, and this is actually the first time I ever watched fireworks with the love of my life. One of the songs they played along with the fireworks was the Willy Wonka song, Zach, being the most wonderful smart-ass, recognized it immediately and started to sing along by my ear. (He would never sing normally but this is after a few labor day beers) It was just so sweet, my little heart melted right away. Although his voice is more for the “They will find the streets are guarded By United States Marines. ” kind of songs, but that “Come with me
And you’ll be in a world of pure imaginationsure” was the most romantic song I have ever heard.

Oh my BB, How is it that I go to sleep and wake up with you everyday and I still feel like I miss you so much.

The rest of the week is looking good, good thing that it’s wednesday already, looking forward to the fall.

Yesterday I noticed that the leaves turned yellow on the trees outside the office, isn’t it amazing how things like that happen overnight.

Updates at the house on Marburg

this morning I only have a few minutes to do a quick update.

We welcomed our new kitty Lucy into our house on Monday. Zach’s co-worker has this cute little kitty that he doesn’t want to keep at his house. (he has 4 very young kids and they are rough with this tiny teeny kitty)

Zach texted me on that day, he said “I have a suprise for you and you never will be able to guess what it is. ” Indeed, I had a few guesses in my mind (Let me tell you, I was hoping for something totally different), and none of those guesses include the cutest cat in the world.

We decided to name her Lucy because her cute face kind of looks like Lucy Lu…And of course it has nothing to do at all with me being Asian.

Patrick is a little unsure about this situation with this new little sister, he was not friendly at all on the first day, they both weren’t. But they are getting better. Yesterday i saw them eating within 30 inches with each other (In separate bowls of course) and Patrick seemed to have figured out that she’s not going anywhere no matter what he does.

I will upload pictures soon, maybe later tonight.

Thank God it’s Friday

I overslept this morning. The funny thing is, I was awake at 4, thinking that I was going to over sleep, then i got up an hour and a half later to look for my cellphone, wanting to make sure that the alarm is set. (I felt like I could never figure out the alarm clock, long story short, I don’t own one now) I was only able to find Zach’s and saw the time was 5.30. I crawled back to bed, thinking “only 15 minutes left to sleep, then my phone’s going to wake us up”….Then the next time I woke up, it was 6.36 already.

Turned out that I forgot my phone in the car.

Good thing here is, both Zach and I are able to get ready quick (Thanks to the great United States Marine Corp and my mom) so we were sitting in the car, ready to start our days 15 minutes later.

This week has been pretty stressful, Thank God it’s Friday.

No plan for the weekend yet. But isn’t no plan a good plan?

A few things I want to do though:

The honey grilled cheese.

I read about the Honey grilled cheese at Lady Lee in Process, bascially you put honey on both pieces of the bread, on the side that touches the cheese. It sounds like a great idea, gotta try it this weekend. (It’s really such an simple thing, I wonder why I feel like I have to do it over the weekend? Am I a bit over whelmed by myself right now?)

Clean up the chairs

Zach found two really great solid wood chairs yesterday and they are exactly my favorite kind, they look  to be hand made and were taken good care of. So I only need to clean them up in the backyard and bring’em in.

The Rosette I read about at Housewife Bliss

I like to make cute little things, I used to spend a lot of time doing it. But it seems that I lost a lot of my hobbies recently. Yes life is a bit hectic at this moment but am I making it worse by “over-feeling” it?

I need to start doing things again, I want to make two cute pillow cases for the two big pillows on the bed, so instead of have four all white pillows (We have solid color pillow cases, comforter and sheets), we can have two that give the bed a little spice.

Oh and the rosette, it looks so pretty and I know it won’t take long. Again, why do I feel like I don’t even have 10 minutes to sit down and do the things I used to spend hours doing?

Maybe I should get back to work now,  but weekend is only a few hours away and I need a change.

Why I started this blog

This is the first post of Marburgresident’s blog, Hello world.

I have been wanting to start a blog, not that I assume anyone’s really interested in reading about my everyday life, I just figured it will be fun to read back later on about what’s been going on.

This morning I read about the Travelling heart shaped rock project on Ann again….and again, which is a really fun and cute project Ann is planning on doing. I was so excited about be a part of it, so I decided, this is the perfect time for me to start this blog. Here’s more about this project:

“Would you like to participate in a photo project that has a little heart-shaped rock hopping around the globe one blog at a time?  Would you like to have your blog highlighted?  Then you need to take part in the Traveling Heart-Shaped Rock Project!
While on the Oregon Coast I found this little “gem” and decided I didn’t want its journey to end.  ‘Why not’ I thought ‘share this symbol with my blog pals?’  So, here we are!
How can you, you lovely blogging person, take part in the Traveling Heart-Shaped Rock Project you ask? Here’s what you do:
*E-mail your name & address to I will add your destination to the list.  Once you receive the little heart-shaped gem…

*Take a picture of it with something that represents you; it could be an object, a place, whatever you like.
*Then… post the picture on your blog; let your readers know you are participating in The Traveling Heart-Shaped Rock Project.
*Let me know when you receive our little gem; I’ll send you the name & address of the next blogger to mail the rock to.

I know that some bloggers plan on sending the “gem” on it’s way along with a little trinket/souvenir for the next blogger. I love it! Do what feels right, just have fun. And, don’t forget, take pics and post ’em.

I’ll be sharing your pics on my blog as well, you will be the T.H.S.R.P. Spotlight Blogger.  At the end of its journey I’ll create a slideshow of our pics reminiscing about its travels (and wishing it had been me :-> ).

What a fun way to have your blog highlighted.  I hope you take part in the Traveling Heart-Shaped Rock Project!”

I stole the description of the project from Ann again…and again’s blog.

Isn’t that such a briliant idea? I am so excited!
